Finding Finance is operated by Responsible Finance, the trading name of the Community Development Finance Association, a company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales under company number 04111603. Registered office: Adam House, 7–10 Adam Street, London WC2N 6AA. In these terms “we”, “us” and “our” mean Responsible Finance.

Finding Finance provides general information and helps people seeking business finance identify a participating Community Development Finance Institution (CDFI) that may be suitable for their needs. For the business referral service, the platform uses information submitted by the customer to match a potential CDFI and, where the customer confirms sharing, creates a referral accessible to that CDFI.

Responsible Finance is not the lender and does not make credit decisions through this referral service. A referral is not a loan application, approval, offer, guarantee of eligibility or recommendation that a particular product is suitable for you. Any lending application and decision are handled separately by the relevant CDFI.

You must provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge and must not use the website unlawfully, impersonate another person, interfere with the service or attempt to access information that is not intended for you.

Website information is provided for general guidance and may be updated. We take reasonable care over the information we publish but cannot guarantee that all third-party eligibility criteria, products or availability will remain unchanged.

The platform uses details such as location, requested amount, finance purpose and relevant business criteria to identify a participating CDFI. Before a referral is created, you are asked to confirm sharing of your details with the selected CDFI. If you do not submit and confirm sharing, no applicant referral record is created.

Once you submit, the platform securely creates a referral. The selected CDFI receives a notification containing a referral reference and a link, not your application details. Named authorised users sign in to view the information assigned to their CDFI and may contact you to discuss your enquiry.

A CDFI may request further information and apply its own lending criteria and processes. We cannot guarantee that a CDFI will contact you within a particular period, accept an application, offer funding or provide a particular outcome.

If the first CDFI cannot assist you, RF may consider whether another participating CDFI could be suitable. Where you have authorised further referrals when submitting your enquiry, RF may securely share your information with another suitable CDFI without seeking your authorisation again. We will inform you if your referral is passed to another CDFI. You can contact us at any time if you no longer wish your information to be shared with another CDFI.

Where there is no suitable participating CDFI, we may direct you to other information or support services. Signposting does not mean that we have shared your personal information with those services.

Responsible Finance and participating CDFIs are independent data controllers for their respective processing activities. We use and share personal information as explained in our Privacy Notice for Business Referrals. The selected CDFI may retain information in its own systems in accordance with its own privacy notice.

The referral platform uses access controls to limit a CDFI to its assigned referrals. Please do not include sensitive documents or additional information that the form does not request.

Information on Finding Finance does not constitute personalised financial, legal or tax advice. You should consider whether a finance product is appropriate for your circumstances and obtain independent advice where necessary.

A listing, match, referral or link to a CDFI or another organisation does not constitute a guarantee or endorsement of that organisation or its products.

We aim to keep the website and referral service available but may suspend, modify or withdraw features for maintenance, security or operational reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update these terms, and the current version will be published on the website.

The website’s text, design, layout, branding and other content are owned by or licensed to Responsible Finance unless otherwise stated. You may view and use material for lawful personal or internal business purposes. You must not reproduce or commercially exploit protected content without permission, except where permitted by law. Third-party trademarks remain the property of their owners.

The website may link to third-party websites for information or convenience. Those sites are operated independently and may have their own terms and privacy notices. We do not control their content or data practices and are not responsible for them, except to the extent required by law.

You may link fairly and lawfully to publicly available pages of Finding Finance, provided the link does not falsely suggest endorsement or partnership. Use of our branding or creation of a formal referral arrangement requires prior written agreement. We may request removal of a misleading or inappropriate link.

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to those protections and applicable law, we are not responsible for lending decisions or products offered by independent CDFIs, or for losses arising solely from inaccurate information provided by third parties. We do not guarantee that using Finding Finance will result in finance being obtained.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory legal rights that apply to you. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction subject to applicable law.
